Languedoc
This historic region of Languedoc-Roussillon basks in the Mediterranean sunshine of the southern most part of France. Here the climate is hot, the ground dry and the wine is diverse and plentiful. This wine region stretches south from Nimes all the way to the Spanish border and follows the coastline of the western Med to the north east beyond Montpellier.
This is our favourite wine area of France with "New World" influences to be found in abundance in next generation vintners. Fantastic variety can now be found ranging from the warm, spicey and fruit packed "Grenache's", the sublime and subtle Picpoul de Pinet (a must with shellfish) to the magnificant "Voigner". This region has it all, Sunshine, landscape and now real Fine Wines which can now not only compete with the best but let us all enjoy fantastic wines at truly affordable prices.
A great intoduction to this region is our specialist range from Domaine la Grangette especially the stunning red "le Parte de Anges" or the 5 star Voignier exclusively from "Domaine le Madaleine", this white is breathtakingly STUNNING.

White Merlot originated in the Languedoc region of France and this example is a clear and delicate rose-petal pink in colour. The nose is pleasantly intense, expressing notes of red fruit and boiled sweets. The mouth is plump and sweet yet retains a nice freshness due to the acidic balance. A great replacement for White Zinfandel or White Grenache.
