Alsace
Alsace stretches along the cooler foothills of the Vosges mountains for nearly 80 miles between Strasbourg and Mulhouse with the river Rhine never far from it's sights. Wines here are typicaly dry, white and fruity although some stunning Pinot Noir's can also be found alongside there reknown Gewurtztraminer, Riesling, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris.
One of the oldest and world reknown "Alsace" wine houses in this region is "Leon Bayer", although a premium product their range is exceptional and well worth indulging in, especially the "Leon Beyer Gewurtztraminer", probably one of the best examples at this price.
